PARTICIPATING ARTISTS

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s featured artist is Carol Apicella. With over a decade of participation in the Art Gala, Carol has been a resounding success, and we are delighted to showcase her work.

After a successful career in banking and years devoted to motherhood and actively volunteering in schools, Carol uncovered a passion for mosaic art. What began as an economical way to create art projects with elementary students for classroom fundraisers blossomed into a journey of artistic expression.

Initially focused on mosaics for youth and non-profit organizations, Carol's work evolved into unique mixed-media mosaics, often featuring mirror elements. She draws inspiration from everyday objects - a plate, a bead, a drawer pull - transforming them into vibrant works of art.

Friends contribute broken dishes and leftover tiles, which she skillfully incorporates into her pieces, alongside found objects like beads, bullet casings, and twisted copper wire. Carol masterfully weaves these materials into stunning mosaics, each bursting with color and creativity.
